We are seeking a talented Unreal Lighting & FX Artist to join our team who will serve a key role in producing high-quality work to add colour and atmosphere to our scenes! Our studio is located in Vancouver, Canada. However, position is fully remote! #WorkFromHome
Job Title: Unreal Lighting & FX Artist (Short Term Contract) (Remote)
What Youll Do:
Work closely with clients and Visual Development to light on a variety of projects and productions
Create in a variety of styles for projects of various platforms (television, film, games, commercials, etc)
Design and implement real-time visual effects (e.g. fire, smoke, water, explosions, energy effects) using Unreal Engines Niagara system.
Create and optimize shaders, particle systems, and dynamic materials to enhance lighting and FX.
Collaborate with environment artists and technical artists to ensure seamless integration of lighting and FX elements.
What You Need:
2 Years of professional experience as a Lighting Artist
An excellent eye for detail, composition, color, and lighting
Thorough understanding of lighting & FX techniques, industry standards, and best practices
Working knowledge of Autodesk Maya and Unreal Lighting Tools and Niagara FX System.
Experience creating both 2D and 3D visual effects, including stylized cartoon/anime-style FX.
An understanding of Unreal Lighting Setups for different time of day (ie. morning, day, night, etc)
Proficiency in creating particle effects, fluid simulations, and procedural effects.
Experience with different Unreal Weather Effects is a plus
Knowledge of Houdini, EmberGen, or other FX tools is a plus.
Ability to take direction and provide a consistent quality of work
Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills and ability to liaise between management and staff
Highly organized with the ability to multitask
Must be able to adapt to various artistic styles for a variety of project types
