Job Purpose:

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen. They are responsible for ensuring all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and ready for use. Dishwashers support the smooth operation of the kitchen by promptly and efficiently tackling dishwashing task.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Dishwashing and Cleaning:

-Sorts and rinses dishes, glasses, utensils, and kitchenware.

-Loads, operates, and unloads the dishwasher following the proper washing and sanitizing procedures.

-Hand-washes delicate or oversized items that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher.

-Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, and other cooking equipment manually.

-Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to maintain cleanliness and prevent hazards.

-Cleans and sanitizes kitchen surfaces, countertops, and equipment as required.

-Empties and maintains trash and recycling containers.

2. Organization and Inventory:

-Restocks and organizes clean dishes, utensils, and kitchenware in the appropriate storage areas.

-Monitors inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notifies the appropriate staff when replenishment is needed

3. Kitchen Support:

-Assists kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients, as needed.

-Supports the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.

-Communicates effectively with kitchen staff regarding dishwashing needs, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.

4. Compliance and Safety:

-Adheres to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of dirty and clean items to prevent cross contamination.

-Follows proper procedures for handling and storing cleaning chemicals.

-Maintains personal cleanliness and hygiene standards, including wearing appropriate protective gear as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

-Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred.

-Knowledge of proper dishwashing and sanitization procedures.

-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle repetitive tasks.

-Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain order and cleanliness.

-Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment as needed.

-Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

-Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.50 per hour
