TWM is seeking an experienced GIS Professional to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of GIS-based projects for our growing firm. This position will require managing, maintaining, and optimizing GIS servers, databases, and software to enable our teams to efficiently collect, store, analyze, and visualize spatial data for engineering and geospatial projects. The GIS Manager will work closely with the GIS Analyst and technical staff to maintain existing systems and plan and implement upgrades and Enterprise deployments. This position will require client management and outreach.
Experience Level: 5-10 years preferred but not required
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours / week, with the possibility of overtime
Salary: $95,000-$135,000 per year – salary is commensurate with experience
Location: Based in Swansea, IL
Job Functions:
- Oversees all aspects of a Geographic Information System (GIS) program, including managing resources, staff, budgets, and projects, while ensuring the efficient and effective use of GIS technology to meet organizational needs.
- Develops and implements the GIS program’s strategic plan, aligning it with the organization’s goals.
- Maintains a relationship with existing GIS clients and works to make new client relationships to market and grow the service line.
- Manages an ArcGIS Enterprise SDE environment, geodatabases, and data stores
- Monitors Portal, AGO, and Enterprise geodatabase security, user, and group accounts
- Sets up AEC project delivery accounts and groups
- Develops scripts used in geoprocessing and maintenance tasks
- Performs system updates and maintenance to optimize performance and reliability
- Allocates licenses and user accounts as required
- Deploys, updates, and maintains Enterprise and AGO environments for clients
- Publishes map, feature, print, and other geoprocessing services
- Creates web applications and dashboards using ESRI’s Experience Builder
- Updates ArcGIS Add-ins used in production workflows
- Imports and exports databases, tables, shapefiles, etc.
- Manages data ETL and quality assurance for GIS software systems applications.
- Analyzes and interprets spatial data used in the production of maps, reports, and other products
- Ensures proper functionality of enterprise GIS services
- In cooperation with the IT staff, coordinates database and host server activities
- Troubleshoots issues and schedules and coordinates software patches, updates, and upgrades
- Consults with the Project Managers in the development of their GIS plans, goals, and objectives.
- Designs GIS project methodology for assigned projects
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the geographic information systems field
- May help provide training and “help desk” assistance for other staff in the use of GIS.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Beneficial Qualifications:
- Experience with asset management software
- Experience with Trimble products and Trimble Business Center
- ETL experience with outputs from CAD software such as Civil3D and MicroStation
- Experience manipulating LiDAR datasets, Photogrammetry, and Oriented Imagery
- Experience in information technology, network administration, and virtualized server technologies.
