CNC Programmer Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and a passion for precision manufacturing. This role involves creating and optimizing CNC programs to ensure high-quality production of parts while adhering to safety and quality standards. The CNC Programmer will work closely with engineers and machinists to develop efficient machining processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications.
- Utilize CAD software to create and modify designs for CNC machining.
- Operate CNC machines, ensuring they are set up correctly and functioning efficiently.
- Conduct tests and inspections using precision measuring instruments and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues with CNC machines and make necessary adjustments to improve performance.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance production processes and reduce cycle times.
- Maintain accurate documentation of programming changes, setups, and machine maintenance.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages, particularly Fanuc.
- Strong understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
- Experience with CAD software for designing parts and tooling.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and precision measuring instruments.
- Solid mathematical skills, including geometry, to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings.
- Mechanical knowledge to understand machine capabilities and limitations.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
