Job Summary:
The Food Packer is responsible for preparing and packaging food and beverages for distribution and sale. This includes handling a variety of products such as meat, vegetables, pre-cooked meals, sodas, and other beverages. The Food Packer must adhere to all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF standards, and hygiene policies in coordination with the supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and package food and beverages for distribution and sale.
- Safely operate and maintain relevant machinery.
- Perform cleaning duties in production and storage areas.
- Ensure items are correctly packaged according to established procedures.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations in production and storage areas.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
- Ability to operate relevant machinery safely and efficiently.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of related experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Physical dexterity for repetitive motion tasks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally with or without assistance.
- Able to work in a cold prep area (35°F).
