Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document patient health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to resident rights.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Engage clients in social activities that promote mental stimulation and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare providers regarding client needs.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or home community care is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and patient observation skills is beneficial.
- Understanding of resident rights and senior care best practices is an asset.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed while maintaining client safety.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to care are essential.
