We are looking for a consistent technician who is reliable and able to work daily. Work orders are scheduled for you. We are seeking a skilled and versatile General Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks in and around residential properties. This role requires a diverse skill set, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repair skills. The General Maintenance Tech must be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and provide excellent customer service to our residents. As a General Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our residential properties, including routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks.
Responsibilities:
- General Repairs: Perform minor repairs on plumbing systems, electrical systems, and structural components within the home.
- Carpentry: Build, install, and repair structures and fixtures such as doors, windows, cabinets, and shelves.
- Painting and Drywall: Patch holes in walls and ceilings, perform touch-up painting, and complete full-room painting projects as needed.
- Plumbing: Fix leaks, unclog drains, replace fixtures, and install appliances like dishwashers and garbage disposals.
- Electrical Work: Replace light bulbs, install new light fixtures, replace outlets and switches, and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Home Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as HVAC filter changes, gutter cleaning, and appliance upkeep.
- Landscaping and Exterior Maintenance: Maintain lawns and gardens, clean and repair gutters, and handle other outdoor tasks.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and rectify potential safety hazards.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with homeowners to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction with completed work.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of tools, materials, and supplies, and reorder as necessary.
- Emergency Repairs: Be available for urgent repair needs, which may include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical systems preferred.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, with a strong background in HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines for working with HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
