The Franchise Business Consultant’s purpose is to move franchises forward by applying the shared knowledge gained by being a part of a franchise system and replicating key attributes of successful franchises. Be a trusted advisor to the franchises, earning the right to be exceptionally influential when helping franchisees develop the understanding, commitment, and alignment needed to fulfill their role in the change process. Coordinate a team of subject matter specialists in supporting franchises based on their unique needs and goals.

What You'll Do:
Essential Duties:
- Consult with approximately 40 - 60 franchise operating units and coordinate a team of six support specialists
- Ensure clear team goals related to franchise communication, support and performance results are set
- Collaborate with team to prioritize support efforts and coordinate franchise action plans for improvement
- Oversee the day-to-day operational function of the consulting team
- Coordinate and lead regularly scheduled consulting calls, as well as related activities (call prep, reviewing reports, collaborating with subject matter experts on follow-up needs, filing of call reports, etc.)
- Provide face-to-face consulting to franchisees and franchise staff at the franchise locations; Recommend which subject matter specialist(s) attend onsite support visits when necessary
- Prepare and facilitate, inbound franchisee visits/virtual visits, either for the purpose of renewing their franchise agreement or improving the engagement with Michigan Support Center / performance of their franchise
- Prepare written reports of all franchise contact and communication
- Work with franchise to develop and implement action plans to increase visibility and support to improve business operations and increase sales
- Track franchise performance based on the balanced scorecard, financials and sales and contacts franchises on a regular basis to discuss current performance
- Alert management of developing trends or concerns, and seeks advice and assistance when additional assistance from the Michigan Support Center departments can help the franchises achieve their goals
- Ensure the franchise has a clear understanding of best practices and the impact those practices have on increasing profitability and decreasing risk
- Make recommendations for additional assistance (vendor assistance, strengthening org structure, etc.) that may be needed by a franchise
- Responsible for ensuring the creation of strong lines of communication and alignment between the franchises and the Michigan Support Center
- Notify Franchise Consulting Manager of underperforming franchises and lead in developing a plan for improvement
- Assist with ensuring action plans are implemented to address compliance with policies and franchise agreement
- Develop and maintain strong understanding of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® System and operating procedures
- Participate in the Annual Meeting and other conferences/seminars as needed
- Participate in spontaneous conversations daily during regular business hours.

What You’ll Bring:
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities (SKA) Required:
- Extensive knowledge of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to make decisions or recommendations significantly changing, interpreting, or developing important policies or programs
- General business knowledge which includes HR management, marketing, operations, and IT
- General knowledge of forecasting, budgets, and financial analysis
- In-depth knowledge of system performance metrics
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion
- Ability to work under the stress of maintaining relationships between Franchisees and franchise staff, Michigan Support Center staff, and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® customers, sometimes in adverse conditions
- Ability and proficiency in the use of computers and company standard software
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the main office
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Associate degree or combination of education and equivalent experience is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of three plus years of relevant business, industry, or system experience, which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities, is required.
