Business Development Representative

Two Track Malting is looking for a Business Development Representative to develop and expand new and existing markets in the craft malting industry. This position will identify and develop key markets for malted barley, wheat, and other grains.

Two Track Malting is a craft malting company located in North Dakota and serving the craft brewing, craft distilling and food ingredient market. Two Track Malting has expanded operations to meet growing demand with a state-of-the-art production facility built for significant growth. Two Track Malting focuses on high quality products that are grown by hardworking farmers.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual looking to get involved in the craft industry. Craft Brewing and Distilling is an exciting and fun industry, and this role also connects the agriculture aspect.

About the Job:

The Business Development Representative position will have primary responsibility for developing and executing strategic sales plans to expand our presence in the US, with a focus on acquiring new clients, identifying markets, and building a strong relationship with customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to penetrate new markets and increase market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting and networking with potential clients in target regions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing customized solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for business expansion.
  • Writes and implements sales plans that are tailored to specific client needs and presents customer business reviews and presentations on an ongoing basis.
  • Builds strong customer loyalty by proactively communicating with customers.
  • Maintains and expands customer relationships, ensuring customer loyalty by identifying customer needs and translating to a project or product.
  • Proactively manages customer scope changes, identifies potential crisis/risks, and creates contingency plans.
  • Meets or exceeds assigned sales budget in target business segments. Develops knowledge, skills, and abilities by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, and attending industry trade shows.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as operations, customer service, and finance to ensure seamless execution of sales contracts and exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to track progress against targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies in all sales activities and contracts.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.
  • 2 – 5 years of work experience in the brewing, distilling, and/or malting industry, preferably in an account management or sales role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • CRM experience, preferably with Salesforce.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport are required.
  • Must be over 21 years old.
  • Ability to travel.

  • Demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership with a strategic and customer-first approach.
  • Displays a strong knowledge of industry, market, and craft beverage products.
  • Displays a proactive work ethic and is committed to seeing tasks through to completion.
  • Recognizes quickly when progress is stalling and takes immediate action to get back on track.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness and reacts with appropriate urgency to situations that require quick action or turnaround.
  • Proven ability to respond to fluid situations and adapt well to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.

Location: This is a remote role however preference given to being located in the Midwest.

Approximately 25-50% travel is anticipated. With the right experience this could also be an inside sales role while working remotely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Choose your own hours
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental Pay:

  • Bonus opportunities

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
