About the Position
We’re looking for a creative Communications Specialist Intern to work alongside a fast-paced Communications and Events team to leverage a variety of communication channels to promote the TASB Risk Management Fund and its services to current and prospective members. A typical day in this role might include:
- Working with subject matter experts to create training resources.
- Developing marketing and promotional strategies alongside Communications and Events team members.
- Writing and editing various communication pieces including blogs, articles, social media snips, and more.
- Assisting in the execution of training programs and onsite events.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- Available to work 40 hours/week for up to 12 weeks during the summer of 2025.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail. Editing experience or knowledge of AP style is a plus.
- Proficient in word processing, and presentation software. Web publishing experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of communications concepts, including print marketing, social media, email marketing and web content management.
- Familiarity with research practices and marketing analytics
- Interest in education, nonprofit, or member communications preferred.
