About the Position
We’re looking for an Underwriting Intern to work on a team of skilled underwriters and underwriting technicians on initiatives that support the TASB Risk Management Fund. You will leverage various data points and coverage information in order to assist in driving forward key underwriting projects.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and establish adequate terms and pricing for an assigned book of business.
- Analyze and make recommendations for Auto Liability and Physical Damage and School Professional Legal Liability deductible guidelines.
- Analyze and make recommendations for Crime, Flood, and Earthquake rating.
Requirements
- Sophomore or Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or a related degree.
- Available to work 40 hours/week for up to 12 weeks during the summer of 2025.
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
- Interest in education, risk pooling, or insurance environment preferred.
