Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Food Service Worker to join our team at TX Citywide Professional Services. This position plays a crucial role in the preparation, distribution, and service of meals to inmates within a secure correctional environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a structured and regulated setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.
- Portion and distribute food in accordance with portion control guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and dining areas.
- Follow all safety and security protocols, including handling and storing food safely.
- Adhere to dietary restrictions and special meal requests as directed.
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation of food supplies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and regulations.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with inmates and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply
- Ability to work in a secure correctional facility environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must pass Background, Drug and TB Screen
- Must be able to speak or read instructions in English
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25lbs.
- No Active Warrants
- Any fees owed to Harris County must be cleared before applying
- No Expired IDs/License
