Tycko & Zavareei LLP, a mid-sized plaintiffs' civil litigation law firm, seeks an experienced and motivated professional to join its Washington, D.C. office in the role of Paralegal Coordinator, beginning April 1, 2025.
This is a full-time, hybrid work opportunity, intended for someone with professional paralegal experience who is accustomed to providing direct case support in a fast-paced legal environment, an aptitude for leading small teams, and impeccable organizational and time management skills. The ideal successful candidate will have civil litigation law firm experience, and have worked directly with litigators on a large docket of matters spanning various federal or state court systems.
Individuals who do not have experience in the legal field but are interested in transitioning to a law firm setting and who bring at least two years of experience leading teams in another fast-paced, professional setting are encouraged to apply.

ABOUT THE JOB
This position's paralegal function involves providing our attorneys with meaningful case assistance across all stages of litigation, from initiation to resolution, by performing case-management, organizational, drafting, research, coordination, and other substantive and administrative tasks as needed and delegated. In addition, as Coordinator, this position is also responsible for supporting the smooth operations of our litigation support team. This entails organizing team meetings, overseeing schedules, training new hires, facilitating ongoing learning activities, and leading other efforts to promote cohesion and efficiency amongst the team, as well as regularly liaising with firm management and other senior roles to ensure the firm's legal administrative support needs are seamlessly met.

ABOUT THE JOB
- Position: Paralegal Coordinator (full-time, non-exempt)
- Start Date: April 1
- Location: Washington, D.C. (hybrid; in-office work on average 2-3 days/week)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:30PM (40 hours/week, occasional overtime)
This position's paralegal function involves providing our attorneys with meaningful case assistance across all stages of litigation, from initiation to resolution, by performing case-management, organizational, drafting, research, coordination, and other substantive and administrative tasks as needed and delegated. In addition, as Coordinator, this position is also responsible for supporting the smooth operations of our litigation support team. Responsibilities/Duties
- Oversee workload management of Litigation Support Team and allocate casework based on workflows and current assignments, deadlines, staff and attorney schedules, project complexity, and timeline sensitivities
- Lead team in identifying, preparing, and implementing best practices to support knowledge sharing and effectiveness
- Collaborate with firm leadership to ensure proper case support and case management processes
- Oversee training, supervision, and mentoring of paralegals and litigation assistants; memorialize and prepare training materials
- Lead interdepartmental projects and act as point of contact for special projects
- Act as a point of contact for attorneys regarding firm operations and resources
- Manage and coordinate complex briefings and electronically file pleadings and motions in accordance with court local rules and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Organize and maintain case files, internal records, and attorney calendars to reflect matter docket and deadlines
- Draft and proofread correspondence, memos, and other communications
- Routinely communicate with attorneys, clients, and co-counsel about case status and preparation
- Anticipate case needs and communicate with case attorneys to proactively establish next steps and provide support
- Assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery (interrogatories, requests for admissions, and request for production, subpoenas, and preparing deposition binders)
- Conduct client and case intake calls; speak with class members regarding their cases
- Perform basic factual legal research using Westlaw and online resources
- Assist attorneys and other teammates on special projects and other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree (or other college degree/certification together with substantial professional paralegal work experience);
- Experience leading a team comprised of a variety of roles; and
- Minimum two years of professional work experience in a fast-paced and email-heavy office environment (prior experience as a litigation paralegal is highly preferred).

- Anticipated Base Rate: $33.50–$36.50/hour (commensurate with experience)
