Position Summary: The Production Shift Team Lead (B-Shift) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a production shift to ensure that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves leading a team of production workers, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that production targets are met on time while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS
- Support the safety efforts in the plant
- Active participation in all safety training and programs
- Appropriate accident investigation and reporting.
- OSHA reporting
- Cleaning reports
- Responsible for the adherence to Quality Standards and SOPs throughout the plant.
- Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift
- Ensure security of facilities during designated shift hours
- Enforce all safety and processing procedures
- Enable effective communications between management and operators
- Train new employees and coach existing employees
- Maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with 5S protocol
- Intimate knowledge of all assigned equipment
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate to Management or Scheduling personnel any issues of concern which could prevent 100% on time delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S standards of LeanManufacturing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to read and understand the specifics of a Job Traveler.
- Must be able to follow detailed numerical specification.
Computer Skills
- Minimum amount of computer skills for proper packaging of production.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Applications.
- Knowledge of Epicor MRP System.
- Provide quality support and guidance is needed.
- Perform quality checks as required.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure quality standards are met.
- Aid in the development of SOP’s
- Actively participate in the Corrective Action, Preventive Action and Root Cause Analysis process.
