AUTOMATION ENGINEERING MANAGER- HUNTINGDON, TN
Purpose
Lead automation problem solving and continuous improvement efforts for the improved performance of the mills, slitters, and casting equipment. The Automation Manager is the primary person responsible for the execution of automation projects in the facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day automation activities in the plant
- Accountable for automation related software changes, upgrades, and adjustments
- Supports operations personnel with the identification and solving of equipment issues
- Works independently to identify and address complex automation problems in equipment
- Supports identification of spare parts and acquisition
- Manages third party vendors who work with various pieces of equipment
- Responsible for the mitigation of downtime related to automation
- Development of training programs for automation related equipment, including HMI’s
- Responsible for the identification and installation of equipment for improved performance
- Actively engages in troubleshooting and corrective action development
- Partners with local Electrical group for problem solving
- Collaborate with Local and Corporate IT for cross functional solutions
- Troubleshooting and diagnoses of control system problems
- Responsible for the design and application of control systems to ensure product meets quality standards
