Position Purpose: To provide supervision and support to suspended youth attending the Alternative to Out-of-School Suspension Program (ALTOSS) from the Martin County School district. To provide focus and interventions to reduce the suspension recidivism rate in Martin County. To assist with client intakes, data gathering, tracking, and input. To supervise and facilitate social skills and processing groups specific to developing positive behaviors. To develop and coordinate community service projects. To assist with referrals, client and school contact, and day-to-day functions and support, as needed. Supervises support staff and coordinates on behalf of the manager as necessary.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a high school education
- Knowledge of and compliance with state and federal statutes, rules, and policies that affect children.
- Experience in delivery of high-quality, client-centered care.
- Able to document and navigate electronic health records independently and accurately.
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality
- Sound judgment, decision-making, and complex problem-solving.
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences and formats.
- Work independently and have good organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate both good communication and listening skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited university or college, two (2) years supervisory experience in mental health, preferred, or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a work-related field
