Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate codes for nursing home charges and clinic services in accordance with industry standards.
- Stay updated on coding guidelines and regulations, including the No Surprise Act.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with coding practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and support to staff on coding procedures and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCA) is preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Experience in nursing home and clinic coding is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
