The Assistant Coach, Football is a 10.5 month full-time position that reports to the Head Coach, Football. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assisting the head football coach in coaching the intercollegiate football team in a highly competitive NJCAA division I athletic program.Recruiting of student-athletes.Giving academic support and counseling to student-athletes.Assist in placement of student-athletes to four-year institutions.Assisting as needed drug education, counseling and testing.Other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic director. CompetenciesExcellent oral and written communication, human relation, organizational, interpersonal and administration skills essential.Must be able to be independent, respect confidentiality, problem solving, and maintain courtesy in dealing with students, faculty, staff and visitors.Demonstrated leadership abilities. Must be committed to affirmative action, gender equity, and the academic success of the student-athletesMust have a desire and commitment to support the mission of the college.

ExpectationsPerform other duties as assigned.Will have contact – in person, by email, or by phone – with staff, students, and the general public.Must exhibit a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.Travel Must have and maintain a current valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
