Description
The Part-Time Advanced Skills Lab Assistant, Emergency Medical Services Professions is a part-time, 12-month position responsible to the Department Chair, Emergency Medical Services Professions.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Meeting all scheduled classes for the full class period; for distance education professors, meeting the instructional requirements of a distance education class as specified in the distance education course standards
Informing students of student learning outcomes relating to the skills being observed
Motivating students by a professional, responsive, and cordial attitude to perform at their highest level
Maintaining an atmosphere of dignity and propriety conducive to learning in the classroom
Working cooperatively with other members of the faculty and staff in an effort to contribute to overall institutional effectiveness
Utilizing talents, academic background, and strong personal qualities to serve the best interests of students and Tyler Junior College
Qualifications
Required
Must be willing to work flexible hours (may include some evening hours)
Must have independent and creative thinking; and initiative in seeing projects to completion
Evidence of strong organizational skills and oral and written communication skills
Ability to meet goals and work effectively in a "team" environment
Must be able to be independent, respect confidentiality, implement problem solving, and maintain courtesy in dealing with students, faculty, staff and visitors

Part-Time Retirement
Part-time employees are required to participate in the part-time retirement fund. The retirement fund is invested in a group fixed annuity contract with Ohio National Life Insurance Company.
