Job Summary
TYLin is seeking a Principal Bridge Engineer for the Texas Bridge Sector. The position requires experience as a Lead Design Engineer and a Project Engineer for State and local agency projects, and design/build contractors, with transportation structures (bridges, tunnels, walls, etc.). Experience should include technical expertise in design of bridge and other transportation structures, plans production, specifications, cost estimates, and the ability to manage projects / clients, supervise production, and provide day-to-day technical guidance, supervision and career mentoring to entry level staff. The engineering duties are comprehensive, and include design, planning and scheduling of engineering work, client contacts and performing more advanced designs.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Management:
- Project Manager and client interface on Infrastructure related projects.
- Task Lead on larger projects.
- Work with other project managers and Sector Managers to establish contract scopes of work, budgets, production work plans, and schedules.
- Ensure proper codes and standards are being used on projects.
- Implementing rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.
- Plan, schedule and execute design work.
- Organize and develop contract plans.
- Develop contract specifications and construction cost estimates.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of other engineers and designers.
- Provide staff with guidance and assistance on projects coordinating various disciplines.
- Responsible for the successful completion of projects under his/her direction.
- As a seller-doer, participates in BD activities for pursuit of design and construction support opportunities.
- Directs proposal efforts for pursuits and writes assigned sections of proposals.
- Assist with pursuits of highway and transportation projects.
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural design.
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to create budgets and maintain them by proactively managing the design team.
- Advanced knowledge of design and analysis software required.
- PE license required and at least 15 years of design and construction experience required.
- Demonstrated Deputy Project Management experience required.
- Successful experience managing design projects and design teams using analysis software.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive engineering reports.
- Experience with Washington, local and state procedures strongly preferred.
