SUMMARY:
As a Culinary Production Specialist, you will prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment. You will be responsible for producing a variety of food items and ingredients for multiple food outlets according to the exact standards for quality and consistency established by the Chef.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES ASSIGNED:
- Follows all applicable food service health and safety regulations and procedures
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Describe and promote the products on the menu
- Participates in Banquets and/or Agave Burrito Bar service
- Measure ingredients and prepare them according to recipe specifications and standards set by the Chef.
- Responsible for unloading food deliveries and organizing them into the proper storage areas while maintaining FIFO product rotation protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary workstation
- Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
- Must be highly coachable and willing to grow
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required. - Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of cooking
- Basic knowledge of knives and knife skills, including cutting and slicing techniques and proper handling.
- Basic understanding of essential cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, braising, roasting, steaming, frying, and blanching.
- Working knowledge of proper food handling, storing and rotation protocols
- Familiarity with equipment operation, maintenance, safety, and cleaning protocols
- Ability to take direction, and willingness to go the extra mile when asked
- Strong time and task management skills
- Ability to take initiative, finding thoughtful and creative ways to solve problems through adverse situations.
- Strong commitment to Guest Service
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 6 months - 1 year of related kitchen experience.
