Custodian

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in a designated facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including floor care, custodial duties, student lunches, bathrooms, etc. This position available is designated to a daytime shift of 10 am - 6pm, however availability could alter due to internal union movement.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
• Maintain and care for floors through buffing and polishing to ensure they are in excellent condition, also utilizing floor scrubbers.
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify areas that require attention or maintenance.
• Assist with industrial cleaning tasks as needed to uphold safety standards.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts throughout the facility.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and maintained properly.
• Collaborate with other staff members to support overall facility operations.
• Willingness to work OT for weekend school district events.
• Willingness to work OT during the winter season to clean in front of doors, etc.

Experience

• Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is beneficial.
• Knowledge or capability to operate a Kaivac bathroom cleaner as well as Floor Scrubbing Equipment would be highly beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in a union position would be beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.27 - $21.63 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
