General Description
We are seeking an experienced Aviation Project Manager, Level 2, with a strong background in Department of Defense (DoD) contracts, including experience with Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL) and aviation modifications. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience managing aviation-related projects within the DoD environment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results while adhering to contractual requirements and budgets.
This role involves overseeing aviation modification projects from initiation to completion, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensuring all CDRL deliverables are met per contract specifications. The Aviation Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution while managing risk and ensuring compliance with DoD standards.
Duties
- Lead and manage aviation projects related to modifications, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and final delivery.
- Manage CDRL submissions and ensure timely and accurate delivery of all required contract data.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, logistics, etc.) and external vendors/subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Monitor project performance, including cost, schedule, and scope, and take corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with DoD standards and regulations, including quality assurance and safety requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including government customers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, adjusting as necessary.
- Prepare and deliver regular project status updates, reports, and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Conduct project reviews and post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement in processes and execution.
- Responsible for technical oversight of projects and task orders within quality, and schedule constraints
- Coordinates the efforts of the functional departments, as required, to ensure that projects are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the contract and statement of work
- Familiar with a variety of aviation systems, related concepts, and practices and procedures
- Communicates goals, scope, technical approach, and schedule requirements to assigned personnel
- Constantly assesses project performance and formulates, organizes, and monitors progress reports
- Must be knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DFAR, Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, requirements, policies/procedures, cost/scheduling estimating
- Must possess superior communication skills with experience in interfacing directly with the government Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer's Representatives, and customer designated representatives

- Must have excellent risk, change, and resource management skills
- Demonstrates a solutions-focused approach to problem solving while identifying and resolving customer issues

Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related area of academic study, from an accredited college or university required.
- 4-6 years' experience with aviation projects.
- 5 years' experience in Project Management, in government contracting; interpretation of government RFP's and statements of work.
- Strong working knowledge of aviation product lifecycle management, BOM development and technical writing.
- Active Secret or higher security clearance desired. At a minimum, the candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret or higher security clearance.
