General Description:
Oversee and coordinate daily warehousing activities to include receiving, inventory management, and shipping. Optimize overall warehouse efficiency through continual improvement while maintaining a safe work environment and providing leadership to the warehouse team.
Duties:
- Ensure daily operations meet and/or exceed daily performance expectations
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance
- Manage incoming parts, supplies, and equipment
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
- Manage outbound materials to outside process providers and shipping deliverables to customers.
- Manage all aspects of property/asset management by performing all functions associated with property business systems to ensure company, customer and US Government property located on site are managed in accordance with applicable regulations and policies
- Will be responsible for USG property IAW the FAR and applicable supplements including, but not limited to, FAR Part 45, Government Property; FAR 52.245-1, Government Property; and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Part 245, Government Property
- Ensure all documentation is complete and maintained IAW company policies and contractual requirements
- Interface with customers on schedules, meetings, and issues
- Assist in management of procuring packaging materials that meet contract requirements. (Commercial Best Practices and MIL-STD-2073 Packaging Standards)
- Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees; assign workloads to warehouse workers
- Interface with all departments to answer questions and solve problems
- Maintain records, document necessary information, and utilize reports to report warehouse status
- Identify areas of improvement and adjust existing work procedures and practices to make the necessary improvements
- Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
- Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures; advise on budget-related needs; assist in the bid process for various supplies as required
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge of warehousing and stock control methods and procedures
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. 2 year Associates Degree or greater preferred
- A minimum of ten (10) plus of warehouse/logistics experience with at least four (4) of those in a supervisory role
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the business
- Must have strong organizational and planning skills
- Must have multiple warehousing automated lift vehicles experience
- Must have experience working in a manufacturing and services environment
- ERP systems experience required; Deltek, CostPoint, and SharePoint experience a major plus
- Demonstrated frontline leadership skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
