The Mission

We are looking for strong applied AI interns to join our research team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to explore and develop cutting-edge Generative AI solutions, contributing to the advancement of AI-powered products that impact our customers.

Core Responsibilities

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and propose ideas to solve real world problems we are addressing at Typeface.
• Convert the ideas into working prototypes, demonstrating results using either public benchmark datasets or our in-house datasets.
• Investigate, prototype, and implement state-of-the-art AI solutions across the technology stack.
• Produce one or more working component(s) in Typeface product or publish novel findings as a patent or a publication at a top tier venue
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a PhD student working on core ML along with exposure to NLP and/or Computer Vision research
• Strong fundamentals in common machine learning algorithms and Deep Learning systems
• Track record of converting initial research ideas into working prototypes
• Proficiency in Python and Deep Learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch)
• Excellent communication skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior publications and contributions to open-source software
• Prior participation in challenges and competitions
• Exposure to working on multimodal, e.g. via coursework, previous internships or full-time positions.
• Prior experience with AzureML, GCP Vertex, AWS Sagemaker or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Generative AI systems and APIs.
  
  

Location

This is a hybrid role reporting to our Seattle or Palo Alto office 3 days a week.

Pay range: $40.00-$60.00 hourly
