Management Level : Summary
The expectation of this position is to lead and direct a team that promotes the development and execution of quality programs, policies and product standards to meet business unit objectives.
The essential functions of this position include : Coordinating the development and improvement of biosecurity, quality and animal welfare policies and best practices; auditing the compliance of approved best practices; establishing, conducting and monitoring biosecurity, quality and animal welfare training programs; practicing and promoting active inter-departmental communication; developing and empowering qualified and effective Team Members in all positions; and developing and achieving budget goals and department objectives.
Additional responsibilities include : Coordinating and maintaining policies compliant with federal, state, and local regulations; reviewing internal and external stakeholder feedback to drive quality improvement; coordinating the testing and approval of interventions related to bird health, pest control, herbicides, and disinfectants; coordinating risk analyses, investigations and corrective action plans to help prevent flock and product losses; collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing quality-related data and trends, and communicating the information to stakeholders.
Requirements
Education and Experience
College degree (or equivalent experience) with 10 years of progressive experience in field, or advanced degree with 8 years of progressive experience required. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and experience working in computer-based and web-based applications needed. Ability to prepare and present information to internal and external stakeholders in formal and informal settings on a variety of quality-related topics required.
Accountability / Role
Advanced manager with responsibility for managing a department while developing short to medium term action plans for accomplishing functional / business unit objectives. Results have a meaningful impact on the achievement of annual functional / business unit objectives. Requires a high proficiency in leadership, problem solving, and ability to influence domestic and international global QA teams and other stakeholders directly and / or indirectly.
Travel
Domestic and international travel required.
Biosecurity
When visiting job sites / biosecure environments, showering before entering the facilities is required. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the job sites except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds). The Company animal welfare policy must be followed at all times.
Physical
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Must use safe lifting techniques. When visiting facilities, it is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
