Summary:
This role involves handling livestock hogs, including but not limited to driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning while maintaining accurate inventories and headcounts. Additional responsibilities include performing light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with livestock. The position requires safely and efficiently moving hogs with minimal stress, adhering to humane handling policies, and carrying out other tasks assigned by the supervisor. All Tyson Team Members must prioritize safety, including both personal and food safety.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in livestock handling, including loading and unloading operations, is required. Proficiency in skid loader and forklift operation is preferred. Experience in meat industry procurement and knowledge of humane animal handling practices are also beneficial.
Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency preferred.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with team members and government officials.
Special Skills: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 70 pounds unassisted and stand for 8–10 hours (excluding breaks).
