This position is responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor/trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This position is primarily responsible for the delivery of feed to the Contract Poultry Grower Farms, safely and in a timely manner.
Position will require standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing pulling, reaching, stooping and lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Temperatures will vary with the external environment to include heat, cold, wet, dry and damp conditions with high concentrations of allergens at times, requires driving during inclement weather, must be able to apply tire chains if necessary. Must have a flexible work schedule, willing to work weekends and overtime (as needed), must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all Team Members including management. Knowledge of D.O.T requirements relating to equipment maintenance is preferred, must be able to maintain operational records, must report any safety concerns to Supervisor, maintain DOT records daily, maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Position holder must be 21 or older, have and maintain a current and valid Class A, Commercial Driver's License in the state of residence, with a clean driving record, must have (1) one- year driving experience in a Class A vehicle, will be required to supply 10 years of work history. Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical Examination and Drug urine and hair follicule test. MUST PASS BOTH TEST as outlined in D.O.T. regulations.
Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered.
