SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the efforts of the Purchasing Manager and processes within the Purchasing Department at the Waverly Plant. The Purchasing Coordinator will facilitate vendor/partner processes, purchasing and overall cost management for supplies, materials, repairs and equipment
RESPONSBILITIES:
- Administration of purchase requisitions and purchases for both facilities
- Receipt of all orders for both facilities
- Receiving of purchase orders into ERP system
- Scheduling of timely deliveries of components and raw materials
- Ensure compliance with Tecumseh Poultry Inventory Maintenance Agreements
- Verify parts are coded and taken out of inventory through the maintenance program
- Order parts and equipment
- Enter maintenance parts and equipment into maintenance program
- Conduct inventory audits as needed
- File bills of lading for Purchasing Supervisor
- Ship parts and samples as needed
- Assist maintenance technicians to retrieve parts in the Parts Room as needed
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently. Attention to detail and ability to solve practical problems
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in parts inventory preferred. Experience with ROSS ERP system a plus. Experience in purchasing a plus
Computer Skills: Ability to use computer, with previous Microsoft Office, CMMS, Excel experience. Ability to do simple calculations and operate a 10-key calculator
Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate well with our vendors, internal suppliers and interpret invoices. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.
Physical Requirements / Environment: Stand/Walking: Frequently (3-6 hours). Sit: Frequently (3-6 hours). Lift/Carry: Supplies and equipment as needed. Bend/Stoop/squat/crouch: Frequently (3-6 hours). Pull/Push: Occasionally. Climb Heights: Occasionally. Corrected vision and dexterous use of both hands. Physical Environment: Temperature varies on season
