DRSN Session Border Controller

Tyto Athene is searching for a Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Session Border Controller (SBC). The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a subject matter expert of Session Border Controllers on the DISA DRSN team in support of an enterprise VoIP management system – GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. The successful candidate will have an SBC background responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of SBCs and their network and element management systems on a high-paced, fast-moving program. The candidate will be a member of a team that interacts with technical and non-technical individuals including customers and vendors, but primarily with our subject matter expert teammates. In this role, the candidate will provide technical assistance, administer configurations, upgrade software, develop and/or update related documentation, ensure applicable STIGs are applied and documented, conduct and support testing on work performed, recommend enhancements, and troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with the various sub-systems and network components.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage your technical background to understand the customer's goals and identify the best integration solution for their needs
• Perform customer (end user) system integration by following instructions and executing processes
• Test and troubleshoot configurations to confirm successful integration
• Communicate with customers during integration and post-integration including responding to emails, facilitating meetings or phone conversations, participating in solving technical problems
• Author/update documentation
• Identify configuration errors and check appropriate log files to debug issues
• SBC NMS EMS Protect/Analytics PKI Certificate management

Required:

• 12 years in VoIP/SIP/SBC engineering, network engineering, or telecom infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting SIP, VoIP, and upgrade and integration issues
• Experience working in enterprise VoIP environments provisioning and maintaining the change management of routes
• Ability to write technical documentation, design network diagrams, and train teams
• Configuring Active/Standby SBC clusters, load balancing, and failover
• Knowledge of geo-redundancy, SIP trunk failover strategies
• Troubleshooting packet loss, jitter, and latency issues using Wireshark or packet analyzers
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, QoS, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and DNS.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Detail-oriented
• Expertise with Ribbon SBCs and element and network management system product
• Telephony Routing and Translations skills
• Experience working with Virtual Machine cloud platforms
• Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX/VMware ESXi vSphere
• Knowledge of IP networking, basic IP routing, firewalls, Switches and Security
• Certification Required: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or Level III) certification (e.g. Sec CE)
• All candidates must be US CITIZENS to be considered for the position

Desired:

• 12 Experience with Oracle SBCs and element and network management systems
• Knowledge of Sonus carrier grade products is considered as significant advantage

Compensation:

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $150K-$170K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
