Position: Critical Care Physician

Location: Various Air Force Bases

Overview:

Serving as a Critical Care Physician in the Air Force, you will play a vital role in managing the care of service members with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. As part of the Air Force's collaborative and dynamic medical team, you will employ advanced technologies and practices while providing patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary environment. This position demands a commitment to excellence, an understanding of military culture, and adherence to the medical oath.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide critical care services to active duty service members, veterans, and their families, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Leadership: Lead, supervise, and train a multidisciplinary critical care team to guarantee the highest standards of care.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to provide urgent medical services in various scenarios, including during military operations, disasters, or humanitarian missions.
  • Research: Engage in research activities related to critical care medicine to advance the management of critically ill patients.
  • Consultation: Serve as a consultant to other physicians and healthcare professionals regarding complex critical care management.
  • Deployment: Be prepared to deploy to provide critical care services in diverse locations, sometimes in a field setting with austere conditions.

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree: From an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certification: In Critical Care Medicine.
  • License: An active and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the United States.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in a critical care setting.
