As a Preventive Medicine Specialist, you will have the chance to enhance the health and well-being of Army Soldiers, retirees, and their families. You might lead programs focused on physical medicine and rehabilitation at medical installations, training and mentoring other medical personnel. Your leadership will be essential in directing Force Health Protection initiatives, focusing on the assessment, mitigation, and communication of health risks and exposures at both individual and community levels. Additionally, you will oversee public health core functions : assessment, policy development, and assurance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. medical institution
  • Foreign graduates eligible with a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
  • Current medical license to practice in the U.S., District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico
  • Eligibility for board certification
  • Completion of at least one year of approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship
  • Completion of a training program in preventive medicine
  • Must be a U.S. citizen for Active Duty roles
  • Permanent U.S. residency required for Army Reserve positions
