Job Title : Occupational Therapist
Job Overview : The Army is looking for civilian Occupational Therapists for the Holistic Health and Fitness Program (H2F) which involves working as part of an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches and registered dietitians. The H2F program implements support to Soldiers for all 5 domains of wellness into one holistic program these domains include : Mental, Sleep, Spiritual, Nutritional, and Physical Readiness. The goal of this team is to enhance Soldier readiness and operational availability through Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning and Performance Nutrition to optimize physical training, mitigate injury and increase career longevity. Soldier readiness is critical for the Army to continue to be postured to fight and win our nation’s wars.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Evaluate and treat individuals for conditions to include sleep disorders, stress management, problem-solving skills, executive function disorders, lifestyle habits and routines, upper extremity musculoskeletal issues.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for occupational therapy services, in alignment with the unit’s overall goals and objectives.
- Plan, coordinate and implement group OT treatment programs.
- Develop and advise leadership on the implementation of programs to optimize unit performance and readiness through sleep, cognitive and occupational interventions.
- Provide command consultation and unit needs assessments.
- Unit patient review and discharge planning meetings.
- Track, communicate and assess progress OT patient care and case load.
- Develops, coordinates and directs rehabilitation goals and duties set by the unit commander and program director.
- Collaborate with and act as a liaison between various professionals such as H2F team, medical treatment facility, physicians, and specialty care clinics such as orthopedics, radiology, hand therapy clinic, physical therapy clinics and behavioral health.
- Perform documentation audits and peer reviews.
- Stay current with advancements in rehabilitation therapies and techniques, incorporating evidence-based practices into clinical protocols.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and accreditations standards related to rehab services.
- Integrate expertise into H2F team to arrive at coordinated, holistic care plans and on safe rehabilitation plans.
- Assess occupational performance patterns in individuals, groups and populations and develop OT interventions designed to improve performance patterns and increase Soldier lethality.
- Provide OT program oversight and direction to OTAs assigned to the unit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
