    Clarification from the agency

    U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

    Duties

    • Works under the supervision of the Beverage Manager who issues instructions on procedures, methods and deadlines, relies on incumbent to assure work assignments are carried out by other members of the bartending crew.
    • Serves as a working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing bartender work.
    • Ensures there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew busy.
    • Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures.
    • Assist customers by discussing beverages available, their content and mixing special drinks according to customer direction.

    • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
    • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
    • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination
    • Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
    • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of4 hours refresher training annually.
    • Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination

    Qualifications

    Candidates must:

    • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment to serve alcoholic beverages, in accordance with state and local regulations.
    • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
    • Possess math skills necessary to calculate bills and take inventory.
    • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages is required.
    • Must have the ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff.
    • Work experience as a full service bartender.

    Education

    This position does not have an education requirement.

    FWS Allowances and Differentials

    • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
    • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.

    Incentives and Bonuses

    • Incentives will not be paid.

    Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

    • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
