Job Summary
As an Operating Room Specialist in the U.S. Army or Army Reserve, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing staff in preparing the patient and operating room environment.
Assist medical staff during surgical procedures to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Prepare patients and operating room environment for surgery by following established protocols.
Operate the centralized material service to maintain sterile medical supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and maintaining sterile fields for surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients and operating room environment for surgery.
- Perform preoperative and postoperative procedures as directed.
- Responsible for sterilization process, including inspecting, cleaning, assembling, warping, and sterilizing equipment.
Training and Experience:
Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training provide comprehensive training for this role.
Candidates with Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification may be exempt from some training requirements.
