**Job Overview:**
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the role of an Operating Room Specialist in the U.S. Army or Army Reserve.
As an Operating Room Specialist, you will assist the nursing staff in preparing patients and the operating room environment for surgery.
You will work closely with medical staff during surgical procedures and ensure a sterile environment is maintained.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide assistance to medical staff during surgical procedures
- Prepare patients and operating room environment for surgery
- Responsible for sterilization process, including inspecting, cleaning, assembling, warping, and sterilizing equipment
**Training and Experience:**
No specific experience in the medical field is necessary, as comprehensive training is provided by the U.S. Army.
Candidates with a current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification may be exempt from some training requirements.
Job training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 19 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.
Some of the skills you will learn include emergency medical treatment, basic nursing care, knowledge of the human body, minor surgical procedures, clinical laboratory procedures, and methods for diagnosing diseases.
