Duties

  • Serves as a Readiness Technical Expert.
  • Assists Chief in the development/presentation of Monthly Readiness Review (MRR) briefings through V-Corps ODCS, G3 to V-Corps Command Group.
  • Assist Joint Monthly Readiness Review (JMRR) briefings and reports through V-Corps, ODCS, G3 and USAREUR-AF Command Group to the Commander, U.S. European Command (EUCOM).
  • Assist with Quarterly Readiness Review (QRR) briefing through V-Corps ODCS, G3 to V-Corps Command Group and Subordinate Command Commander.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (NCS/SECRET) background investigation.
  • Must be able to work extended and/or other than normal duty hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to the extent determined by the supervisor.
  • Must be able perform a Temporary Change of Station (TCS) for not less than 6 months, but no more than 30 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Forces Certificate of License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government driver’s license to operate non-tactical vehicle/transportation motor pool (NTV/TMP) vehicles such as a sedan or small passenger van.
  • Must be able to work under austere living conditions, as well as share accommodation under field conditions (containers, tents and/or barracks).
  • Must be able to perform business related travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Must be able to receive inoculations IAW DoD requirements for travel to specific countries.
  • Must be able to travel using military transportation or non-commercial means of travel.
  • This position is designated Mission Essential.
  • IAW DoD Policy, must be able to obtain and maintain a no-fee Special Issuance Passport (SIP) and associated visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated visa.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting unit readiness reporting and analysis; assisting with emerging of regulations and directives; expertise in management practices, including the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Army and Net Centric Unit Status Report; assisting with force structure actions for corrections; applying manpower management policies and procedures to briefing management officials on manpower and force structure issues; utilizing authorization documents to determine personnel requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
  • When a temporary promotion is to an organization in a different command, the losing and gaining activities must agree to the temporary promotion and decide in advance which activity will assume responsibility for placement of the employee when the temporary promotion ends. If no decision is made, the employee will return to their permanent position of record (AR 690-300/10-8a/d).
  • Position may be made permanent without further competition.
  • Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted.
  • When a temporary promotion is terminated, the employee will be returned to the position from which they were temporarily promoted; or, with their consent, to a different position of equivalent grade and pay (AR 690-300/10-8).
  • Relocation may be allowed at will of the command.
