This position requires enlistment in the U.S. Army or Army Reserve.
As a Combat Medic Specialist, you will administer emergency medical care in the field in both combat and humanitarian situations. You will serve as a first responder, triage illnesses and injuries to save lives, similar to a paramedic in the civilian world. You will also train other soldiers in lifesaver/first responder courses and provide care on base while not deployed.
You will learn skills aligned with Emergency Medical Care, Patient Care Instructing & Training. Additionally, you could earn 57 nationally recognized certifications.

Job Duties
- Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties
- Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment
- Instruct soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training course
- Manage soldiers' medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment
Requirements
- 10 weeks of Basic Training
- 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
- U.S. Citizen
- 17 to 34 years old
- High School Diploma or GED
- Meet Tattoo Guidelines
- No major law violations
- No medical concerns
