Job Description

U.S. Bank National Association is seeking the position of Software Engineer - ICS Credit Card Processing Systems in Englewood, Colorado.  

Essential Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer - ICS Credit Card Processing Systems will be responsible for the development, maintenance and modernization of U.S. Bank’s Credit Card Products backend modules. The Software Engineer - ICS Credit Card Processing Systems will also contribute to U.S. Bank’s Integrated Card Systems engineering by focusing on new developments and maintaining products to enhance user experience and convenience. Additional responsibilities include: designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products and technologies, utilizing expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, and IMS, following Agile methodology and using tools like Jira; modernizing APS modules to COBOL programs which includes learning/training in Azure, Cloud, Automation, and AI technologies to support the U.S. Bank’s platform modernization and migration activities; ensuring technical designs considering the scalability, reliability, and performance of affected systems and contexts; make informed design and coding decisions, prioritizing customer experience; managing production support and the rewards product portfolio mailbox on a rotating basis as part of our regular engineering duties; spearheading the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of top-notch software experiences; demonstrating full-stack ownership by consistently crafting production-ready, testable code; creating optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance; incorporating feedback from code reviews to meet standards and improve engineering practices; conducting code reviews to offer guidance on engineering best practices and ensuring compliances with development procedures; ensuring compliance and security best practices are followed in all aspects of product development; upholding software reliability engineering standards embedded in development practices; embracing emerging technology opportunities and contribute to best practices in support of the U.S. Bank’s technology transformation; fostering a culture of innovation,

collaboration, and continuous improvement for U.S. Bank’s existing rewards engineering systems; critically reviewing tasks and ensuring they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; and anticipating and communicating blockers and delays before they require escalation. Multiple openings. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Computer Science or Computer Science plus 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Lead, Consultant or related. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Computer Science or Computer Science plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Lead, Consultant or related in lieu of a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 3 years of experience with Master’s or 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s with: performing mainframe development, maintenance, and migration; designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products and technologies; create implementation plans, risk assessments, budget plans, and assessing cost and investment on projects; unit testing, debugging, and troubleshoot cross-system testing activities; agile methodology; AB Initio; VSAM; Change Man; IMS; COBOL; JCL; CICS; and DB2. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $161,886 - $163,400.
