Job Description

This position will be responsible for defining a cloud data strategy for Risk Technology Services, including the migration of an on-premises, Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse. As a principal engineer, this position will also coach and develop skills among data engineers to build and maintain a cloud data infrastructure.

Specific experience required:

- Understanding of Azure cloud data platform (including Synapse Analytics) and experience designing data structures within Azure, including serverless data pools and application contexts

- Understanding of cloud data pricing and strategies to make efficient data storage and transfer decisions to maximize value

- Experience with migration of on-premises data structures to cloud-based solutions

- Ability to define a strategic plan, document milestones, and present progress to technical leadership

- Experience with and understanding of data lake and data warehouse options and design, including medallion architectures and Extract-Load-Transform models

- Understanding of data quality metrics and their application to a data lake architecture

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Thorough knowledge of development languages, solution design, application and infrastructure planning
- Strong communication skills and strategic thinking with understanding of upstream/downstream
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of banking operations and industry legal regulations and policies, such as Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

NOTE: This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00 - $172,590.00
