Duties
The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit is accepting applications from all qualified persons for the position of Federal Public Defender for the District of Wyoming. The Federal Public Defender will head the newly established office of the Federal Public Defender Office for the District of Wyoming, effective August 25, 2025. The person chosen for this position will receive training in the months that precede the opening. The term of office is four years, with potential for successive appointments. The current authorized annual salary is $195,200. The position is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Conditions of Employment
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident seeking U.S. citizenship. Excepted service appointments are "At-Will." Appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a high-sensitive executive level background investigation. Employees are subject to the Judicial Code of Conduct. Direct deposit of pay required.
Qualifications
Federal Public Defender Offices operate under authority of the Criminal Justice Act (18 U.S.C. § 3006A) to represent individuals who are prosecuted in our federal courts and unable to afford counsel. An applicant must be / have :
