Physical Requirements: Employee may frequently work in hot, humid, confined spaces around equipment and systems associated with facilities. They must climb ladders, bend, crouch, stoop and endure prolonged periods of standing and walking. Employee must lift parts and supplies weighing up to 40 lbs. Must be physically fit as work involves lifting, pulling, climbing, crawling, working with hands over head, working in confined areas and using arm and back muscles. Employee must possess ability to be on feet for long periods either standing, walking, working off ladder or staging materials and lifting equipment.
Working Conditions: Employee may be required to work in areas of high temperature, cold temperature, constant noise, chemical fumes, dirt, soot, rotating equipment, oil and grease. Work is performed inside and outside, sometimes in bad weather, wet, cramped locations; is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises, toxic fumes, gases and acids. Assist in other crafts within the Engineering Services.

- Maintenance, repair and overhaul of combustion-powered diesel generators, patient shuttles, and comparable vehicles.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and replace facilities infrastructure and mechanical distribution systems.
- Troubleshoots and tests chill water and boiler systems and associated mechanical systems.
- Repair utility systems associated with wastewater collection and distribution.
- Troubleshoot and test full range of systems on a multitude of electromechanical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic.
- Replaces sensors, water pumps, plugs, valves, cylinders, gaskets hoses, and complete assemblies.
- Clean, remove, adjust, and replaces defective parts and components.
- Assembling and installing framework (both wood and metal); drywall and paneling; doors of all types; interior and exterior trim; and drop ceilings.
- Frame and hang windows (wood and aluminum); fabricates and laminates cabinets and counters of wood and plastic and installs vinyl floor coverings.
- Replace and repair roofing, including roll roofing, built up gravel and metal.
- Repair and maintain shop equipment.
- Diagnose and repair and overhaul office equipment.
- Repair and modification of non-biomedical equipment.
- Operates test equipment, pressure gauges, oscilloscopes, multimeters, pipe cameras, leak detection devices, etc.
- Develop a preventive maintenance program based on manufacture specifications.
- Maintenance, repair, and modification of mobile equipment that have utility and facility uses.
- Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical wiring systems.
