The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams of stakeholders, guiding projects from conception to implementation, while managing resources, timelines, risks, and project deliverables in alignment with strategic goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Partner with key stakeholders including executives, IT, business unit leaders, and vendors to set and maintain clear priorities and timelines for multiple projects across various departments, ensuring they are in alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist stakeholders to properly scope and manage projects through the project prioritization process, including the development of business cases and project charters.
- Lead and manage multiple enterprise level projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and high-quality results, while staying within budget and scope.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that include timelines, resource allocation, risk management strategies, and budget adherence.
- Ensure all internal and external project team members understand project goals and objectives, current project plan, schedule, and critical path activities.
- Facilitate regular project meetings with stakeholders to review progress, clarify requirements, and adjust plans as needed.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop an overall communication strategy for both internal and external audiences.
- Monitor project performance, track milestones, and address any issues or obstacles that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Report project progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing updates on timelines, risks, and resources.
- Contribute to the development of test cases and test plans, to ensure deliverables meet business needs.
- Proactively identify issues, resolve conflicts, and maintain consistent communication on project-related issues to senior executive management.
- Clearly communicate the project status to stakeholders with status reports, change requests, and escalation of issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present reports on project outcomes, including lessons learned and performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency in project management practices.
- Mentor and support team members, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Create and distribute clear meeting agendas to project team members.
- Take meeting minutes and accurately identify action items and follow-ups.
- Partner with stakeholders on project closure celebrations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience:
- 4 years of project management experience, preferably in the financial services or banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).
- Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project).
- Knowledge of standard Credit Union operations, products, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience running complex, enterprise, cross-functional, level complex projects. Experience in working closely with senior management.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, project management, finance, or equivalent experience.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
