About the Role :

The Production Foreman will be responsible for managing a team of operators and technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment, ensuring production targets are met, and maintaining strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oil and gas operations, with expertise in production processes, equipment maintenance, and safety procedures. This role requires a proactive, hands-on leader who can troubleshoot operational issues quickly while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

Supervision and Team Management :

  • Directly supervising a team of production operators and technicians.
  • Assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Daily Production Operations :

  • Overseeing and coordinating daily production activities, including production reporting, well testing, and equipment maintenance.
  • Monitoring production rates, equipment performance, and process parameters to maintain optimal production levels.
  • Safety and Compliance :

  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Conducting safety meetings, promoting safety awareness, and addressing any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Equipment Monitoring and Maintenance :

  • Supervising the maintenance and repair of production equipment, including pumps, valves, vessels, and other related production facilities equipment.
  • Coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability.
  • Efficiency and Optimization :

  • Identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders to implement optimization strategies and improve production processes.
  • Reporting and Documentation :

  • Generating daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, including production volumes, equipment status, and any incidents or abnormalities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
  • Training and Development :

  • Providing training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Ensuring that team members are adequately trained on safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency response protocols.
  • Communication and Coordination :

  • Coordinating with other departments such as drilling, completion, reservoir engineering, and maintenance to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Liaising with higher management and relaying information regarding production targets, challenges, and achievements.
  • Emergency Response and Contingency Planning :

  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans to address any unforeseen events or emergencies, such as well blowouts or equipment failures.
  • Conducting regular drills and training sessions to prepare the team for emergency scenarios.
  • Candidate Requirements :

  • Extensive knowledge of oil and gas production processes with familiarity of drilling, completion, and workover operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, train, and motivate a diverse team of technical personnel.
  • In-depth understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Proficiency in using production monitoring systems, control systems, and operational software.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S, First Aid, CPR, etc.) and relevant training in oil and gas operations.
  • Physical ability to work in field environments, with exposure to harsh conditions such as heat, noise, and remote locations.
  • Education and Experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training, certification, or a degree in an engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a Production Foreman or in a similar supervisory role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Permian Basin experience.
