PRESIDENT, METALWORKS
The President of U.S. Engineering Metalworks is responsible for advancing the company’s market position and driving profitable growth through strategic business development, acquisitions, and the implementation of leading-edge technology and operational strategies to establish a world-class manufacturing operation. As a key member of the Executive Committee (ExComm), the President contributes to the overall organizational strategy and decision-making for U.S. Engineering Metalworks while also actively participating in the U.S. Engineering Holdings Executive Committee and Strategic Leadership Team. This role carries the responsibility of achieving revenue growth while fostering strong industry and community relationships, championing Metalworks’ reputation, and leading initiatives that extend the company’s impact beyond its immediate operations.



Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for building and leading a multi-disciplinary high-performance management team that will foster Metalworks’ success across all regions.
  • Partners with the Holdings Executive Committee in the establishment of the company’s long-term vision and leads the Metalworks management team in the development of strategic and business plans that support the vision. 
  • Leads the overall development and execution of operations for the company, in order to achieve stated objectives, ensure profitable growth, and fulfill the company’s commitment to its core values, its stakeholders, and to the community.
  • Maximizes growth and profitability through the transformation of the existing operations into a world-class manufacturing facility.
  • Leverages existing lines of business and capitalizes on new products in new and existing markets through the alignment of resources and the delivery of superior quality, value, availability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Leads the management team in the development of technology innovation and the execution of business plans for new product development and designs for manufacturability.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or other mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Management, Construction Management or Business Administration required.
  • Certification in Manufacturing Engineering preferred.

Experience:
  • At least 15 years’ experience in an operations or leadership role within a manufacturing and/or mechanical systems contracting environment, preferably with multi-plant experience.
  • At least 5 to 10 years’ experience with full P&L responsibility.
  • Proven outcomes implementing LEAN manufacturing principles in multiple industries
  • Experience managing collective bargaining units.
  • Demonstrated strategic mindset, cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to driving enterprise-wide initiatives that align with the company’s vision, growth, and operational excellence.

  • Financial competency - manages company financials and P&L ownership.
  • Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing, technology, and industry standards
  • Skilled at building rapport and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to evaluate customer organizations and their decision-making processes to effectively develop strategies. 
  • Develops the ability of others to perform and contribute to the organization by providing ongoing feedback and by providing opportunities to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills. Listens effectively and provides clear, concise, and convincing communication as needed. 
  • Resilience – deals effectively with pressure; remains optimistic and persistent, even under adversity, and recovers quickly from setbacks.
  • Flexibility - Adaptable and flexible to changing environment – champions or embraces change when necessary and manages it effectively. 

Physical and/or travel demands:
  • Work will be done in a combination of environments, including office settings, manufacturing facilities, job sites, external meetings, etc.
  • Frequent travel between regional offices and customers' locations, including job sites in addition to presenting at conferences and other industry events (14 trips annual)
  • Regular local driving to job sites and other regional offices is required.
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, and use of monitor and telephone. 
  • Occasional climbing, reaching, stooping, and lifting are required. 

Benefits and Compensation:
  • The range for this position has been established at $250,000 to $300,000 per year and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
  • Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance, as well as paid time off. An industry-leading benefits package, including health, dental, and vision plans, matching retirement contributions, and matching 529 contributions all add to your bottom line.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
