U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management service company, is seeking Equipment Operators to perform a combination of skilled equipment operations, preventive maintenance, and manual labor tasks in roadway maintenance.
Equipment Operations includes but is not limited to; backhoe, dump truck, loader, motor-grader, tractor/bush-hog, and similar equipment. This position also engages in the following: flag traffic, set up work zones and traffic control, cut brush, clean ditches/debris, patch potholes, and perform emergency roadway operations. This is to be accomplished on a routine basis as outlined in the following responsibilities:
Valid driver’s license is required. DMV records check is required. Pre-employment drug screen is required. Fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check is required.

- Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials methods, and procedures.
- Able to perform heavy manual labor (carry 50 pounds 50 yards).
- Able to read and follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Skilled in the operation and maintenance of light, medium and heavy-duty equipment used for highway maintenance and repair.
- Any other duties as assigned by a supervisor and/or USF Senior Project Manager.
- High School diploma/GED or demonstrated equivalent experience or training
- DOT medical card
- Must have a Class B minimum CDL
- Ability to obtain Flagging Certification within 60 days of employment
- 90-day probation period.
- Flexible schedule (relates to a 24/7/365 operating environment).
- Required VDOT/Industry training.
- Significant all-season/all-hour operating conditions.
- May be subject to short or no-notice work assignments.
- Work is primarily outside along interstate highways requiring necessary safety precautions involved in working with electricity in and alongside traffic.
- Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment subject to short or no-notice work assignments and exposure to inclement weather.
- Work environment is informal, both team and autonomy oriented, having routine tasks with variable pace and pressure.
- Weekend, evening, and overtime work may be required. Standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, lifting, carrying; frequently reaching, kneeling, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching, and balancing can be expected.
- Monitored performance with routine evaluations.
- When directed by client or Project Management may function as a member of an Emergency Response Team.
