This position is a Biological Science Technician, GS- 0404-7 working at the Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield for the R4-Georgia Ecological Services Field Office.
This is a term position expected to last 13 months but may be extended up to a total of 4 years at management's discretion.

- One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience must include: (1) experience operating a variety of field equipment (e.g., 4X4 trucks, fertilizer spreaders, dump trucks, backhoes, boats, tractors, tractor implements); (2) Use of standard wildlife management practices (e.g., mowing, discing, herbicide application, fertilization, liming, trail maintenance); and (3) Use of standard fisheries management practices (e.g., fish stocking, fertilization, weed control, pH adjustment). In addition, your resume must also demonstrate at least three of the following additional requirements; (4) Assists in biological surveys for conservation and recovery of game or sportfish species and their habitats (e.g., electrofishing surveys, hunter surveys); (5) Operates data collection stations for game species at a military installation (e.g; weighing, measuring physiological features, eviscerating, pulling jawbones); (6) Assists with managed hunts (e.g., recording biological data, skinning, quartering); (7) Assists with outreach events (e.g., kid's fishing events, bass tournaments); and/or (8) Conducts surveys for American alligator, maintains and monitors wood deck nest boxes, traps/removes nuisance animals. NOTE: Your resume must contain sufficient information in these areas to be found qualified. OR
- One full year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree, if directly related. OR
- A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement
Responsibilities:
As a Biological Science Technician your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:- Managing wildlife openings and supporting managed hunts.
- Operating data collection stations for white-tailed deer harvested on the installation.
- Managing sportfish activities and associated habitat.
- Community education and outreach including fishing events.
