The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a global, nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., working to improve environmental sustainability, human health, and resilience in the built environment through its programs and rating systems including LEED. Today, people in over 180 countries and territories live, work, and learn in LEED certified buildings, communities, and cities that protect health, climate, and natural resources, and enhance quality of life.
USGBC is currently seeking an innovative Education Content Developer to create and curate high-quality educational assets to support USGBC / GBCI products. These assets include but are not limited to on-demand modules, presentation slides and scripts, case studies, quizzes, podcasts, and video for online, in-person, and blended learning experiences. The educational materials will support USGBC / GBCI products and programming including LEED, TRUE, SITES, and PERFORM.
The Content Developer will be responsible for producing and maintaining a range of multimedia educational assets that provide customer value, expand learning and thought leadership, strengthen USGBC / GBCI products and services, drive revenue generation, and increase market impact. This includes development, production, delivery, management, and maintenance across all lifecycle phases.
The Content Developer will work with the Director of Education Development to identify the educational needs of and pathways for customers of prioritized USGBC and GBCI products and create and maintain high-quality learning content that supports USGBC product strategies.
The Content Developer will design and develop engaging learning content and materials on green building topics, incorporating e-learning, video, and graphics to captivate a diverse audience. They will also rethink and adapt existing static (pdf / ppt) materials into new learning assets. The Content Developer will apply learning design principles, adult learning theory, and learning sciences evidence to ensure high-quality learning content.
This successful candidate will demonstrate (a) excellent educational content development skills; (b) exceptional ability to manage details, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines; (c) the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; and (d) innovation and creativity to bring education from concept to market.

Specific Responsibilities :
Content Development
- Curate existing resources, identify gaps, and coordinate creation of additional assets
- Coordinate with SMEs and other content creators to acquire required content
- Establish and communicate design and editorial guidelines to maintain the quality and consistency of educational assets
- Oversee the editing and proofreading processes to maintain content quality and consistency
