Position Description
A Republican Member based in Charleston, South Carolina seeks a motivated and detail-oriented interns to join our team in the Charleston District Office. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in a Congressional district office while serving the constituents of South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District.
Responsibilities:
- Constituent Services: Serve as the first point of contact by answering incoming calls to the main office line, addressing inquiries, and directing calls to appropriate team members.
- Communications: Assist in drafting professional correspondence, including letters, emails, and other communications to constituents and stakeholders.
- Event Planning: Support the planning and execution of district events, town halls, and other community engagement activities. This includes coordinating logistics, preparing materials, and assisting onsite as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals.
- Interest in public service, government, or community engagement.
- willingness to learn new tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- College credit may be available based on your institution's requirements. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate academic commitments.

- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B)
- Be (i) admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157 or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1158 and (ii) have filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible
- Owe allegiance to the U.S. (i.e., qualify as a non-citizen U.S. national under federal law)
