Position Description
A Republican Member of Congress in Charleston is seeking a highly motivated, meticulously organized individual to fill the role of Staff Assistant/D.C Scheduler in the District Office. This individual will report to the Member and Operations Director.
The Staff Assistant/D.C Scheduler will oversee the Member's D.C calendar including all committee hearings, events, meetings, etc. They will coordinate travel to and from the District as well as coordinate security. The individual will also assist with office administrative duties to ensure that daily office functions run smoothly. This includes constituent correspondence, answering phones, and taking meetings as needed. This role will operate in conjunction with the Operations team.

Compensation

- Be (i) admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157 or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1158 and (ii) have filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible
- Owe allegiance to the U.S. (i.e., qualify as a non-citizen U.S. national under federal law)
